Hello! I’m Flannery! I’m a performer, dancer, movement & rehearsal director based in New York City. Welcome to my webpage. My movement maker manifesto of sorts (I’m working on making this more succinct, I promise): There is a lot to be discovered when open-minded people gather in an empty studio to find a collective sense of moving and dancing together. Designing movement in rehearsals with actors, dancers, and musicians consistently reminds me of the many movement qualities there are to be seen and acknowledged in one another. In every process I enter I hope to uncover how each performer moves, research the collective movement histories of the ensemble, and build material with the aim of supporting a powerful present moment that audiences can immediately relate to. I’m a big fan of unison.
